Wells Fargo is one of the biggest banks in the US, but mostly as a consumer and commercial bank. Its investment bank, part of Corporate and Investment Banking, is smaller than the bulge brackets' and mostly American. It's been hiring senior bankers to grow its advisory business, which makes it an interesting place to start.
Mostly a US application
Wells Fargo's investment banking analysts are hired mainly in the US, in New York, Charlotte, San Francisco and other cities. For most UK students it isn't a realistic route unless you can work in the US.
If you're at a US college, it belongs on your list, especially if you're interested in leveraged finance or capital markets, where a big lender naturally does a lot.
On the resume
- US format: one page, GPA if 3.5 or above, no photo.
