How to get into Truist Securities

Truist Securities replaced SunTrust Robinson Humphrey after the SunTrust and BB&T merger. Who it hires and what undergraduates need on their resume.

Truist was formed when two US regional banks, SunTrust and BB&T, merged in 2019. Its investment bank, Truist Securities, used to be SunTrust Robinson Humphrey, which is the name you'll still see on older forum posts. It's based in Atlanta.

What it's like

A middle-market investment bank attached to a large lender. That usually means plenty of leveraged finance and debt work alongside M&A, for mid-sized US companies and private equity funds.

Applying

US only, in practice. Strong for students who want to work in Atlanta or other southern US cities rather than New York.

On the resume: the US basics, plus any debt or credit interest. A credit module or a society pitch on a leveraged company helps.
