Accenture is enormous: by headcount, the biggest consulting firm in the world. Most of its work is technology: designing, building and running systems for large organisations. It also has a strategy practice, Accenture Strategy, which does work closer to the strategy firms.
Pick the right door
Like the Big 4, Accenture has several graduate routes:
- Strategy, if you want problem-solving work closer to MBB.
- Consulting, for business and operations change.
- Technology, for building and implementing systems.
Apply to the one you'd actually enjoy. They test it.
What the CV should show
- Comfort with technology. You don't need to code for most roles, but you need to be interested in how technology changes a business. A project where you introduced a tool, automated something, or built something small counts.
- Teamwork at scale. Accenture projects can have hundreds of people.
- The basics: one page, grades, numbers.
